Frequently asked questions

What does it mean to command and declare healing through prayer?

In the Christian faith, to command and declare healing is to use God-given authority and faith in His promises to speak health and lot into existence. It stems from the belief that our words carry spiritual power, reflecting Jesus' teachings and His miracles of healing.

Does commanding and declaring healing mean we can heal ourselves?

Directly, no - the power of healing ultimately comes from God. However, by commanding and declaring healing, we align ourselves with God's will (which includes wellbeing for all His creation) and invoke His healing power. It's not about our capability to heal, but about trusting and channeling God's infinite healing potential.

How do we construct powerful prayers for healing?

A powerful healing prayer typically acknowledges God's sovereignty, expresses clear faith in His promises, and articulates our specific request for healing. It should be spoken with conviction, humility, and a heart open to receiving God's healing. The prayer could include scripture passages reinforcing God's power and His promises of health and restoration.

Could you provide an example of a powerful prayer commanding and declaring healing?

Certainly! Here's an example: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your steadfast love and mercy. I stand on Your word in Jeremiah 17:14 - 'Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved.' I command sickness to leave in the name of Jesus and declare healing over my body (or the person’s name). Thank You, Father, for Your healing power and unfailing grace. Amen.

Why does it seem like some healing prayers aren't answered?

God does answer all prayers, but His answers may not align with our expectations or timeline. It's important to remember Job's story, who despite his suffering, remained faithful and was ultimately blessed abundantly. It's our duty to trust that God's plans for us are perfect, even when they involve temporary suffering.

How to remain steadfast in faith if healing does not seem to come?

Steadfastness comes from deep-rooted faith in God's sovereign plan. Praying persistently is key, even when healing does not immediately manifest. We are called to emulate the persistent widow in Luke 18:1-8 who persisted until she got justice. The Bible assures us in Galatians 6:9, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Embrace this assurance when healing seems delayed.
